About Me

My name is Rob McCandless. I am a Ph.D. trained biologist and I have taught biology at the undergraduate level for over 20 years. I have also worked as an environmental scientist in the private sector and in state government. In the private sector I worked with various power generation, petroleum refining, and chemical manufacturing industry clients to ensure that air pollutant emissions from their operations were in compliance with various requirements of the U.S. federal Clean Air Act. As an environmental scientist in state government, I was responsible for ensuring compliance of public drinking water systems with requirements of the U.S. federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

I started the Living Green blog to educate others on environmental issues and to provide useful tips for like-minded folks who want to reduce their environmental impact and live an environmentally sustainable lifestyle. I hope you find my blog posts informative and helpful. Please feel free to leave comments on anything you see here.
